Tough Justice 3: Burned by Carol Ericson

She burned Moretti…now it's his turn.
Destroying Moretti was Special Agent Lara Grant's biggest coup, but she paid a heavy price to make the bust. She'll do anything to keep him—and her secrets—behind bars.
But Lara knows he's playing the FBI like a maestro even from jail. So when her boss's daughter is kidnapped, it's personal…and not just for Lara.
With the team at breaking point, it's up to Lara to keep everyone focused. Until a chilling photo is delivered to her home address. Moretti knows where she lives. And he knows what she's hiding
Part 3 of 8 in the chilling, high-octane FBI thriller TOUGH JUSTICE from New York Times bestselling author Carla Cassidy and authors Tyler Anne Snell, Carol Ericson and Gail Barrett.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Tough Justice: Burned by Carol Ericson is a 2016 Harlequin Special Release publication

This segment seemed more like a psychological thriller with Moretti’s mind games becoming more intense. Sadly, the hint of romance we saw in the second chapter fizzled, as Lara deliberately gives Nick the cold shoulder. So, I was a little disappointed to see Nick’s role so drastically reduced in this chapter.

However, there was a lot going on here, and a lot of ground was covered in a short span of time. This segment was super intense, very fast paced, and action packed. Once again, I am eagerly anticipating the fourth installment in the series

I was always a bookworm.  I think most authors are.  I started reading romance when I was about 12 or 13.  The first romance novel I read was Victoria Holt’s Secret Woman.  I went on to read all of Ms. Holt’s books and started devouring all the gothic romances of that time.  I’m also a huge Georgette Heyer fan and have read all of her books.  As an English major at UCLA, I read a heavy dose of the classics, and later I started reading a lot of non-fiction and true crime.  What better way to combine my love of romance with my interest in true crime than by writing romantic suspense?!  I have written over 25 books for Harlequin Intrigue (check out my Books page!), and have self-published a few more books, including a romantic comedy (check out my Indie Books page!).
I live near the beach in Southern California, and when I’m not writing, I’m reading, running on the beach, and going to my son’s water polo and soccer games.  I have two teenage sons and a husband retired from law enforcement, who gives me an idea or two.
I hope you enjoy reading my books as much as I enjoy writing them.  I love hearing from readers, so let me know what’s on your mind.  Also, follow me on Facebook and Twitter for news and contests and check out my blog for up-to-date info.
